This spring, we have been invited around the table with cookbook authors Amalie Sigrid and Jakob Skov, the duo behind @anotherdayof_eating.
Tomorrow, they release their first cookbook, 'Det vi spiser igen', a collection of meals you return to. Green dishes where ingredients are allowed to stand clearly, and where taste, texture and composition are considered with care.
Around the table with Amalie Sigrid and Jakob Skov, Another Day of Eating
Behind another day of eating are Amalie Sigrid and Jakob Skov, who met during their studies at Copenhagen Business School and have since created a shared creative space around food.
With an intuitive and aesthetic approach, they communicate recipes and atmospheres shaped by presence, immersion and a desire to create.
Their work revolves around presence, immersion and the desire to create. A place where food is not only something you eat, but something you experience. As self-taught cooks, photographers and food stylists, they have built a visual universe where imagery, colour and composition come together in a calm and cohesive expression.
Their first book is an extension of this approach. A tribute to the homemade and to meals that invite you to slow down. Dishes that require little, yet give a great deal in return, both in flavour and in experience.
"With the cookbook, we want to celebrate the simple and the homemade, invite you to slow down and find joy in and a desire to cook.
To appreciate it, so the meal does not simply become a way to satisfy hunger, but instead leaves you wanting more."
— Amalie Sigrid and Jakob Skov
It is an approach we, as designers, recognise in our own work of creating elements for the table, where simplicity and craftsmanship in the table setting frame the meal.
The cookbook is published by Lindhardt og Ringhof tomorrow, 17 April, and will be available in our flagship store at Frederiksborggade 22, Copenhagen K.
